Magic Show Part II

Yes! He's the magician of the day!

Anyway, here's how the whole thing goes. There wasn't much publicity or stuff on the magic show. Not the kind of publicity you get when Quiddam comes to Singapore. The first hint of publicity I got was from the magician himself.

One fine day, he just tell me that he's going to set up a magic stall. So thinking that he's mad, like he always is (when he tells me that he knows spells and can kill me without touching me... and then he ask me to eat pencil first...), I thought he was kidding. So I paid no attention to it.

Then during MLE lecture, wj sorta told me about his magic stall again.. and I thought HUH?! he's serious?!?!

Well, after all,.... it's ENGINE day... to be held at ENGINE faculty.... where most people are probably more concerned with "how do i solve this equation?.. oh, maybe I shld use #@#!@# law instead of $$%%$%# theory.."

Oh btw, I didn't buy Magic for all of us. HAHAH...

Anyway, i got the magician to show me some magic tricks. HE refused to show me card tricks loh!!! He keep asking me for a book or magazine when i only have papers with me. So out of desperation, he took his own book and performed a trick.

Hmm, first he asked JJ to choose a page and hold it there. Don't let him see it! Den he got the book from JJ and close the book (without looking at the pages). After patting it for a while, he will flip to the page where you have chosen.

Viola! Our VERY OWN MAGICIAN!!!!!



ps: JJ claims that the magician had marked the pages of the book by putting his finger there. Just that it wasn't obvious from my angle.

He's a magician whom 78 is very familiar with. Yeah... and he's setting up a stall during Engine day (which is today) to promote MAGIC.

Just a wee bit disappointed that 4 posts on, I find that I'm still the only one writing on this blog and nobody has left a tag yet. Maybe nobody can be bothered no more. Oh well.

Anyway, I start my first rotation for the year in Obs and gynae! Which should be fun... and hopefully I'll get to deliver a baby scouser or 2.

Because arguments get heated

Trouble is brewing at:

We discovered a leakage from the washing machine today. It left puddles of filthy water on the kitchen floor and is not nice at all. One of my housemates promptly rang the landlord up to sort that out, only to get into a horrible shout-fest over the phone. The landlord wanted us to undo the "U" pipe under the sink to drain out whatever gunk was stuck there (which could possibly be the reason for the leak)... but my housemate curtly told him that we weren't paying him rent so that we could do plumbing work for him. Emotions ran wild and I could literally hear the landlord calling him an "arsehole" over the phone. The conversation was rude and horrible. Both sides weren't planning to give in, and all that name-calling wasn't helping either. Then came the landlord's ultimatum: "either you do what I tell you to (which was actually not that unreasonable), or you move out within a month." HE WASN'T GONNA RENT THE PLACE OUT TO US ANYMORE! Luckily another one of my housemates took over on the phone and resolved the issue with a much calmer approach... or we'll be screwed. It's been barely 6 days since I moved in and all this is happening! I wonder what else could go wrong in the house... hopefully we won't get thrown out!

p.s. I cooked dinner for us this evening... which I'd proudly say was actually pretty decent. But all this that happened prior to dinner literally took our appetites away, so nobody ate much in the end. What a shame! :(

I know that most of you have very busy schedules... so I am extremely grateful for all the effort that you made to come down and celebrate my birthday with me! 当日如有任何招待不周的地方，敬请见谅！I've never organised a birthday party like that before, but I sure had a blast that evening! I hope you did too. (:

Well, it's back to the ol' pool for me again. I've finally (almost) unpacked all my stuff and can stop living out of boxes. The new room's really PURPLE... but nice, comfy, and big enough I guess. My only complaint? Not enough storage space.

So, life's gone back to normal for me: work, sleep, eat, work, sleep, eat... (and I've finally regained the 闲情逸致 to blog again!) *sigh* It's been pretty tough these few days just trying to get my "engine" for studies started again. I miss lazing around in sunny Singapore so much. I miss our little island and its iridescent beauty, the warm weather, its unique people, my crazy friends, my family. 游子的情感交集，有谁能解？
